Since April 2022, I have been working closely with KiwiRail to help them produce a series of stories about the new Interislander ferry service, connecting the north and south islands of New Zealand

A big focus for all parties involved is the collaborative work between agency and Mana Whenua, the indigenous people of the land.

This story focusses on the narrative of the name gifted to the project which embarks on this once-in-a-generation opportunity. That name is 'Te Au o Rehutai'.

I love working on stories like these; stories about partnership, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and promoting the voice of Māori.
